Lancashire Leader+ Programme

Leader logoLeader+ is a European Community initiative that will help rural communities to improve the quality of life and economic prosperity in their local areas until December 2007.

In Lancashire, the Leader+ programme has been developed by the Lancashire Local Action Group – a partnership of public, private, community and voluntary organisations.

The partnership is working to fulfil the Leader+ vision by achieving 3 key objectives:

  1. To develop rural communities with the ability to identify local problems and implement remedial actions
  2. To provide a greater range of locally available services and employment opportunities within rural communities
  3. To open new market opportunities for rural goods in order to safeguard jobs within new and diversified rural businesses.
